Open-source project short video generator
Refreshed daily with the credits job.
What this generator does
Paste a GitHub repository URL — or pick one straight off the built-in GitHub Trending board — and this tool writes a short explainer about it: what the project does, why it is getting attention, and what stands out. It captures the repository visuals, lays them over a narrated script, adds background music, and exports a vertical MP4 ready for Shorts, Reels or TikTok.
It is a hosted tool, not a self-hosted video library. You do not install anything, and you do not need a video editor — the input is a repo URL and the output is a finished clip.
Built for people who post about code every day
Every part of the pipeline that normally eats an afternoon — finding a project worth covering, writing the script, capturing the screen, recording narration — runs in one pass.
GitHub Trending, already loaded
Daily, weekly and monthly boards refresh on a schedule, so a list of 25 projects worth covering is waiting when you open the page. Pick one and it fills in the repo for you.
The script comes from the repo
The model reads the repository — what it does, how it is described, how much traction it has — and turns that into a narrated hook and key points, instead of asking you for a brief.
Repository visuals, captured for you
Screens are captured and cut to the script, so the clip shows the actual project rather than stock footage.
Voiceover you can preview before spending credits
Toggle AI narration on or off, choose background music, and drag the volume slider while a sample mix plays, so you hear the balance before rendering.
17 output languages
The script, the on-screen text and the narration all follow the language you pick — English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Indonesian, Vietnamese and more.
Vertical MP4, plus the description and tags
Every finished job carries a vertical MP4 alongside a suggested YouTube description and tag list, so publishing is a copy-paste rather than a second writing task.
From repository URL to finished clip in four steps
The workbench keeps each decision on its own step, so nothing renders until you have seen the settings.
- 1
Choose a repository
Paste any public GitHub repository URL, or select a project from the trending board on the same screen.
- 2
Configure the video
Set the output language, decide whether the clip carries AI narration, choose background music and set its volume.
- 3
Review and generate
The last step lists the repository, language, voiceover state and music so you can check them, then hands the job to the renderer.
- 4
Download from history
Generation history tracks progress and holds the finished MP4, its thumbnail and the suggested publishing text. Jobs can be stopped, restarted or deleted from there.
Common questions
What the tool needs from you, what it returns, and what it costs.
Do I have to write the script myself?
No. The script is generated from the repository itself. You choose the project and the output language; the hook, the key points and the on-screen lines are written for you.
Which repositories work?
Any public GitHub repository. Paste its URL, or pick one from the trending board built into the first step. Private repositories are not readable, so they cannot be used.
What do I get at the end?
A vertical MP4 sized for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, a thumbnail, and a suggested YouTube description with tags. Clips stay under 40 seconds, which is the range these feeds favour.
How many credits does one video cost?
Five credits per finished video, regardless of length. If a render fails, the credits are returned to your balance automatically.
Can I remove the watermark?
Paid plans can switch the top watermark off in the configuration step. Free accounts export with it in place.
Can I generate a video without voiceover?
Yes. Turn AI voiceover off and the clip keeps its on-screen text and background music. This is useful when you plan to record your own narration over the export.
Which languages can the video be in?
Seventeen, including English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Turkish and Russian. The script, captions and narration all use the language you select.
Can I publish the result on my own channel?
Yes. The videos are yours to post. The projects themselves stay under their own licences, so credit the repository and link it in your description — which is what the generated description text already does.
